How does it work?
Fund by Cell website makes it very easy to raise money online for your cause. Typically in a matter of minutes, you'll be able to create your account, personalize your fundraising campaign and share it with the people in your life. With Fund by Cell website, the money you collect for your cause goes directly to you. There are no deadlines or limits - each donation you receive is yours to keep. What can I raise money for?
Most people use Fund by Cell website to raise money for themselves, a friend or loved one during life's important moments. This includes things like medical expenses, special events, crisis, education costs, volunteer programs, trips, educational opportunity, youth sports, funerals & memorials - even animals & pets. It can be any type of cause to raise money online unless it is a prohibited classification. The possibilities are endless!
Is it safe?
Your Fund by Cell campaign features the very best in secure payment encryption technology. Not only are your donors' online payments safe, your money is stored securely until you're ready to request a withdrawal via electronic bank transfer.
How do I get my money?
Once your fundraising campaign begins receiving online donations, you can easily request a withdrawal at any time. Don't worry, withdrawing money does not affect the progress on your Fund by Cell campaign. Simply click the 'Withdraw Funds' tab from the top dropdown on the dashboard and follow the on-screen instructions. You can withdraw your balance directly to your bank account. Withdrawals typically appear in your bank 2-5 business days after they're initiated. Additional delays may be imposed by your own bank or financial institution.
How long do withdrawals take?
Most withdrawals take between 5 and 7 business days. You can choose between an electronic bank transfer or paper check delivery during the withdrawal process.
Are you a Charity or Non-Profit?
Charities can use the platform to raise money. However individuals cannot start a campaign and say they are going to give the money to a charity unless the campaign is a sponsored campaign through our Partners Portal (insert link?). You will see the name of the charity at the top of the campaign page if the campaign is managed by a charity or non-profit.
Campaigns cannot offer a financial incentive to donate, such a share of ownership in their business.
However, if you are a registered charity with Fund by cell, we can help you register with WePay. We are providing a support for the payment service, but cannot be held responsible for the charity or non-profit's actions or usage of money.
In order to create a Fund by Cell Certified Charity campaign, you must send a copy of your Letter of Determination issued by the IRS of 501(c)(3) status to our team at [email protected]. If you need further assistance please call us at (415) 997-0200 and we will guide you through the rest.
Note: Churches may also include a Form 990, W-9, or SS-4 if a Letter of Determination is not available.

How long does it take to get my money?
Bank deposits take 5-7 days to appear in your account. Checks take 7-14 days to arrive in the mail.
How can I change my bank account?
Here are the steps to add a new bank account:
- Sign in to WePay directly at www.wepay.com
- Click the "Settings" button (gear icon) on the right-hand side
- Click the "Withdrawals" tab on the left
- Then click the "Change" button
- Then click "Link New Bank Account"
Then, be sure to delete the old bank account so your withdrawals aren't sent there in the future. Here's how to do that:
- Click your name at the top-right of the screen
- Select "My Profile" from drop-down menu
- Click the "Bank Accounts" tab on the left
Please be sure to add your own bank account only. If you enter a beneficiary’s bank account, their bank may reject the deposit since the WePay account is still in your name.
How much money is deducted for fees?
Fund by Cell will deduct a 3.9% fee from each donation that you receive. Since our fee is deducted automatically, you will never need to worry about being billed or owing us any money. A small processing fee of about 3% will also be deducted from each donation. Please see Pricing & Fees for more info.
Does it cost anything?
While its free to create and share your online fundraising campaign, Fund by Cell will deduct a competitive, 3.9% fee from each donation that you receive. Since our fee is deducted automatically, you'll never need to worry about being billed or owing us any money. A small processing fee of about 2.9%+30 cents will also be deducted from each donation. Do my donors get charged?
No - never. Other sites might charge your donors without you knowing it, but we would never do that. Donors are charged only the amount they choose to donate to you and thats all.
Are there any time limits?
No. With Fund by Cell there are no deadlines or time-limits. Your campaign will remain live until you choose to stop donations or remove the campaign altogether. Most fundraisers leave their campaigns live indefinitely as a lasting memory of all the wonderful comments and support they received.
What if I don't reach my goal?
No problem. With Fund by Cell, you keep each and every donation you receive. Reaching your intended goal is not required.
How will I know if someone donates?
You'll receive an email notification each time a donation is made to your Fund by Cell campaign.
Do I have to use my real name?
Yes. Fund by Cell is a site that rewards authenticity and transparency.
Can I keep my campaign private?
Anyone who has your Fund by Cell campaign link will be able to access your campaign. There's no way to keep your campaign 100% private.
Who will donate to my campaign?
Your campaign may be supported by any of the people in your life. This includes friends, family members, loved ones, coworkers, classmates and teammates. Only after your campaign receives the support of the people you personally know can it begin to attract the support of others.
What if I'm not comfortable sharing this with friends & family?
Sharing your campaign with friends and family is a part of what makes Fund by Cell work so well. Not only may the people in your life support your campaign, but they may also help spread the word to their friends and family. That’s the beauty of crowdfunding! Fund by Cell users should not expect to receive support from strangers.
Do I have to use my Facebook account?
Although optional, connecting your account to Facebook is highly recommended and makes sharing your campaign with others incredibly easy. A valid Facebook account is required for all campaigns that wish to appear within Fund by Cell's Public Search Directory. Don't worry, we'll never post anything to your Facebook account unless you say so.
How do I delete/edit reviews and comments?
You can go to "Edit Campaign" and click on the "Manage Updates and Comments".
